The Port of Limassol faces the Port of Haifa, which happens to be the seat of the Bahá’í World Centre. The two sister cities share many points of similitude in the Eastern Mediterranean. We as Bahá’ís are very happy to acknowledge the sentiment of his Excellency, Nikos Nikolaidis, Mayor of Limassol – “Limassol has always been the port of the sun that housed different people and cultures. Multiculturalism is one of our strengths, part of our identity.”
The Limassol Bahá’í Community is a diverse community consisting of people with cultural affiliations from Cyprus, Holland, Canada, USA, England, Russia, Iran, Ireland, Bulgaria, Germany, Indonesia, Greece, etc. and enjoys bonding with friends and locals from all over the world. Some of our members are mothers, fathers, psychiatrists, renowned architects, renowned composers and musicians, artists, and computer geeks, but what unifies us is the vision of the oneness of the world, and our love for Bahá’u’lláh.
We are welcoming and would like you to join our activities, consisting of devotional prayers, study circle groups on spiritual topics, deepening and discussions on Scripture and present societal challenges, musical performances, gardening, going to the beach and concerts, enjoying picnics and cooking souvla, community projects, and anything else you may think of that will benefit society and the community, while being fun for all who participate.
