Devotional Gatherings

Prayer is intimate communion with God. It creates spirituality, mindfulness and allows us to reflect on our higher purpose. Collectively, devotional gatherings are a chance for us to learn how to create an uplifting, spiritual atmosphere.

“There is nothing sweeter in the world of existence than prayer.  Man must live in a state of prayer.  The most blessed condition is the condition of prayer and supplication.  Prayer is conversation with God.  The greatest attainment or the sweetest state is none other than conversation with God.  It creates spirituality, creates mindfulness and celestial feelings, begets new attractions of the Kingdom and engenders susceptibilities of the higher intelligence.”  – Abdu’l-Bahá

Held in diverse settings, devotional gatherings allow individuals to unite with others in prayer, awaken spiritual susceptibilities, and shape a pattern of life distinguished for its devotional character. Prayers and writings from major world religions are reflected upon in a reverent atmosphere.

Study Circles

Study circles are small study groups held in informal settings and are open to all adults and typically youth age 15 and over.

They connect study of Bahá’í Sacred Texts to acts of service. Themes of spiritual importance are explored in study circles such as the purpose of life, the importance of prayer, significance of service, basic features and history of the Bahá’í Faith, teaching children and empowering youth.

Study Circles provide participants with the knowledge, spiritual insights and skills to enable them to contribute to the betterment of their neighbourhoods.  A tutor facilitates the group study and discussion.

Junior Youth Groups

Youth between the ages of 12 and 15 have tremendous intellectual and social potential waiting to be developed and channeled towards socially constructive ends.

They are engaged in an educational process, wedded with service to the community, that enhances the power of positive self-expression, develops their ability to make moral decisions and encourages contribution to the spiritual and material prosperity of their communities.

With a vibrant spirit and focused determination, youth from all backgrounds engaged in this process build their capacity to respond with wisdom, courage, and humility in addressing the ills currently facing society.

Children’s Classes

Developing the spiritual capacities in our children is of fundamental importance, not only for their own future happiness, but also for the wellbeing and advancement of society.

Tending to the needs of the children in a neighbourhood, children’s classes aim to develop their spiritual faculties and lay the foundation of a noble and upright character in a fun and creative environment.

These classes nurture the hearts and minds of children and help them to think about and put into practice spiritual principles such as kindness, love, unity, truthfulness and trustworthiness in their daily lives .
